  1. Teachers’ Growth Mindset, Perceived School Climate, and Perceived Parental Autonomy Support Moderate the Relationship Between Students’ Growth Mindset and Academic Achievement

    Kai Zhang, Wu-Jing He · 2025 · Journal of Intelligence · 17 cites

This study investigates the moderating effects of several contextual factors (i.e., teachers’ growth mindset, perceived school climate, and perceived parental autonomy support) on the relationship between students’ growth mindset and academic achievement. Drawing on Dweck’s growth mindset theory and recent research findings that highlight the context sensitivity of the growth mindset, we hypothesize that supportive environments strengthen the positive impact of students’ growth mindset on academic outcomes. A sample of 358 middle school students (53.8% female; Mage = 13.38 years, SD = 2.20) from public schools in Shanghai City, mainland China, was assessed via three validated instruments: (1

  3. Can growth mindset interventions improve academic achievement? A structured review of the existing evidence

    Carolina Gazmuri · 2025 · Review of Education · 4 cites

Abstract Encouraging the idea of a growth mindset in which students believe that they can improve their ability, as opposed to a fixed mindset, has been suggested as an effective and relatively cheap approach to improving student attainment at school. This paper offers a comprehensive review of the evidence from growth mindset interventions. After a rigorous search, screening and evaluation, the inclusion criteria led to 24 studies. All were randomised control trials (RCTs) focused on growth mindset of intelligence interventions for school‐age children and included output measures for academic performance assessment. Their findings reveal that the stron

  4. THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN GROWTH MINDSET, GRIT, AND ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT: DOES GOAL COMMITMENT MATTER?

Ebenezer Nrumah, Prosper Nkrumah, Yaw Frimpong · 2021 · EPRA International Journal of Research & Development (IJRD) · 1 cite

This present study’s consisted of Ghanaian junior high school adolescents, precisely JHS1 and JHS 2. The study duration spanned from January 2019 to October 2020. During the study period, two assessments were done. In the first assessment, primary six students consisting of 425 adolescents, were assessed from 35 schools. During the year 2019, students in primary six who partook in the first assessment were engaged when they had been promoted to Junior high school. The data collection used structured questionnaires, and the snowb

  5. Growth Mindset and Academic Resilience as Predictors of Mathematics Achievement Among Middle School Students: A Quantitative Analysis

Revathy K · 2026 · International Journal of Education Insights (IJEI)

This study examined the predictive roles of growth mindset and academic resilience on mathematics achievement among middle school students. Employing a quantitative, correlational-predictive research design with mediation analysis, data were collected from 486 students enrolled in grades 6 through 8 across 28 middle schools in Rajasthan, India. Three instruments were used: the Implicit Theories of Intelligence Scale (ITIS, α = .89), the Academic Resilience Scale-30 (ARS-30, α = .91), and institutional mathematics achievement scores (standardized term examination marks converted to z-scores). Hierarchical multiple regression revealed that growth mindset significantly predicted mathematics ach

  6. Exploring the Impact of Growth Mindset Theory on Student Motivation and Academic Achievement: A Review of Recent Literature

Jiayi Shi · 2025 · Interdisciplinary Humanities and Communication Studies

The notion of the growth mindset (GM), which can be defined as the notion that mental capacity and individual traits can be changed, has become an institution of contemporary educational psychology. The paper is a formal review of the recent information available on the topic, investigating the effect of GM on the key outcomes of students: academic performance and motivation to learn. The literature review establishes a positive correlation that exists between GM and increased resilience, persistence, and general academic achievement. Moreover, studies are starting to find out more about the underlying cognitive (e.g., working memory acceleration, increased executive control) and pedagogical
