Stop guessing. Start proving.
AI detectors are a probability with a student’s grade attached. Folio takes a different path: it establishes how the work was written, so integrity is a matter of record, not suspicion.
The detector approach
·Flags honest students on a false positive, with no way to appeal
·Loses to every new paraphrasing tool the next week
·Turns teaching into policing
·Leaves you defending a black-box percentage
The Folio approach
·A verifiable certificate on every submission, not a guess
·The writing process, the sources cited, the AI disclosed
·Honest students are protected, not accused
·Anyone can verify a submission from its public record
Proof of work
The proof travels with the work.
As a student writes in Folio, the platform records the shape of the work: how it was drafted, which sources were actually cited, and where AI assisted, always from the student’s own material, never ghost-written.
Each submission mints an Integrity Certificate with its own public verification page. An instructor, an external examiner, or an honor committee can confirm it in seconds, without trusting a vendor’s score.

Records, not a score
What stands behind the certificate.
A detector hands you a number. Folio hands you records you can check, each one produced by the platform while the work happens.
01 · Process Portfolio
The drafting record, next to the grade.
For each submission, instructors see how the work came together: the writing sessions, how the word count grew over time, and when each cited source was added compared with when it was cited.
Shown to instructors on every assignment roster, and to students before they submit.
02 · Reproducibility Attestation
Figures whose numbers are re-derived, not taken on trust.
When a meta-analysis figure is verified, Folio re-runs its own calculation on the stored study data and compares the result with what the figure showed. A figure whose numbers do not match is marked as a mismatch, never quietly passed.
Verify a figure03 · Institution audit trail
An administrative record you keep.
Enrollment changes, regrades, role changes and issued transcripts are logged with who made them and when. You set how long entries are kept, a legal hold pauses deletion, and the full trail is part of the data export taken before an institution is offboarded.
How institution data is protected
It fits the policy you already have.
Folio doesn’t replace your honor code; it gives it evidence. Where your policy asks students to affirm their work is their own, Folio lets them show it, and gives your committees something they can stand behind on appeal.
